Abney died unexpectedly Thursday in Toronto, Canada where he had gone on a brief business trip from his home in South Orange, NJ.
Services will be in Geo. A. Brewer Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Harrison Baker officiating. Abney will be buried in Restland Memorial Park.
He began his insurance career in Dallas in 1920 as a special agent for the Home Insurance Company of New York. He remained in the insurance field here in various capacities until 1941 when he went to the New Jersey job.
Survivors are his wife, and a brother, Rev Abney of Terrell.
