Despondent over continued ill health, Mrs. Maggie Carpenter, aged forty-one years, wife of Leon Carpenter, of near Kuhn, Monroe County, died of a self inflicted gun shot before a physician could be summoned. The suicide took place at her home and a short rifle was used. It had been feared that Mrs. Carpenter would commit suicide and steps were taken to prevent it, but she escaped the vigilance of the family shortly before the act was committed. Her husband and three children and her mother, Mrs. Adam Miller, all of Kuhn survive. Wed. 28 Nov.1917 Noble County Leader.
