Marcia Oleta (Nichols) Nunn, age 96, died Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at the Lindsay Manor Nursing Home. She was born on January 4, 1916 at Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, to Elmer Lester Nichols and Johnnie Lou Washington Nichols. The family soon moved to Burkburnett, Texas, where her father was the band director. Marcia started to school and graduated high school at Burkburnett High School. Her fondest memories were of the time she spent playing in her father's band. It was during this young period of her life that Marcia came to know the Lord and was baptized at the First Christian Church. She had a great love of music and was an accomplished pianist and was still playing until the last couple of years. Marcia was an artistic person, excelling in any endeavor that caught her interest. She was an excellent seamstress.

Marcia and Art Nunn were married on November 12, 1972 in Randlett, Oklahoma. After his retirement, they moved to Red River, New Mexico, where they spent over thirteen wonderful years in their cabin in the mountains. They Were active in all the community activites at Red River, and Marcia was the pianist at the First Baptist Church in Questa, New Mexico. Health complications made it necessary for them to move back to Oklahoma, and they have lived in Lindsay, Oklahoma since 1996. Mrs. Nunn was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lindsay.

She is survived by two daughters, Sheneesta Heatly and her husband, Charlie, of Lindsay, OK and Aquanetta Pitzer and her husband, Gary, of Oklahoma City; three grandchildren, Danny Heatly and wife, Dana, of Norman, Ok, Tracy Heatly Leese of Ft. Worth, Tex, and Amy Pitzer Bell and her husband, Gregg, of Austin, Texas; five great-children, Jordan Heatly and wife Leigh, Jeremy McConnell, Taylor Heatly, Alex Leese and Willow Bell; one sister, Fonda Nichols, and a special cousin, Waukera Hanlin and her husband, Herb. She also is survived by two step-children; Jeff Nunn and wife Julie of Wichita, Kansas and Cindy Brave and husband, David of New York,six step-grandchildren and several other much loved relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her grandson, Allen Neal Pitzer, two sisters, Justine Hooper and Johnnie Lou Weger,her brother, Quanah Nichols, and nephew, Gordon Nichols.

Funeral services will be at two-thirty p.m. on Friday, March 23, 2012 at the First Baptist Church, located at 401 S.W. 3rd Street in Lindsay, Oklahoma with Pastor Randy Allen officiating and Gary Pitzer assisting. Interment will follow at Green Hill Cemetery in Lindsay, Oklahoma. Services are under the direction of B.G. Boydston Funeral Home of Lindsay, Oklahoma.
