Justine Hooper, 90, of Burkburnett, died peacefully in her sleep, Sunday, August 14, 2011 with her sons at her bedside.
Services will be held Wednesday, August 17, 2011 at 10:00 AM at Owens & Brumley Funeral Home with Rev. Anthony West, officiating. Burial will follow at Randlett Cemetery under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Burkburnett, Texas.
Mrs. Hooper was born July 14, 1921 in Milburn, Oklahoma to E.L. and Johnnie Lou Washington Nichols. She and David L.Hooper were married May 28, 1937 in Grandfield, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death September 26, 1999. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Quanah Nichols; a sister, Johnnie Lou Weger; and a grandson, Russell Lynn Hooper.
She worked side by side with David as a farmer, rancher, and as an accountant at Modern Butane Company they owned in Burkburnett. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Randlett, and was a resident of Randlett until moving to Burkburnett in 1994.
Survivors include three sons, George D. and wife Pam of Burkburnett, David R. and wife Helen of Lawton, Oklahoma, and Brian P. and his wife Janice of Burkburnett. She is also survived by five grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. In addition she is survived by two sisters, Marcia Oleta Nunn of Lindsey, Oklahoma, and Fonda Roe Nichols of Burkburnett.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the charity of your choice.
