Mrs. Myrtle Adel Pittman was a native of Pierce County but had lived most of her life in Ware County. She had resided at Baptist Village Retirement Communities for the past five years. She was the daughter of the late Herman Strickland and Laura Aldridge Strickland. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Strickland, and brothers, Omer Strickland, Dewey Strickland, Sheldon Strickland, Hiram Strickland, Coyle Strickland, Doyle Strickland, and Bennie Strickland.

She was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church and the Class of Love Sunday School Class. Mrs. Pittman loved the Lord foremost and gave her life for her children and grandchildren and was an avid Atlanta Braves Baseball fan. She was retired from Sue Bee Honey.

Survivors include a son, Marlon Pittman; two daughters, Shirley Hill and Elaine Hodges; 11 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren; two sisters, Lovenia Manders and Loretta Carter; three brothers, Theron Strickland, Herbert Strickland and Richard E. Strickland.
