Carl Eric Lassen Carl Eric Lassen, 84, passed away on July 1, 2005, in Orem, Utah. He was born June 18, 1921, in Odense, Denmark, and moved to the United States with his parents and older brother, Kurt, when he was five years old.

He had been a long-time resident of South Bound Brook, New Jersey, and recently moved to Provo, Utah, to be closer to his children and grandchildren.

He was a Master Sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II and fought in the Pacific Theater, including Guadal Canal, Guam, and the Marianas Islands. He also served during the Korean War. He was always proud of his military service and was proud of having been a Marine.

He married Myrtle Thorson on August 17, 1946, and they were blessed with five children. They were later divorced. He is survived by three sons and two daughters: Gregory Carl (Kathy), Gary Kurt (Bonnie), Glen Eric (Connie), April Lassen, and Leslie Pidgeon; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He had a life-long love affair with the game of golf, loved a good joke, and always spoke highly of his friends in New Jersey. We'll miss you, Dad!

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, July 5, 2005, at 11 a.m., at Provo City Cemetery, 610 S. State Street, Provo, Utah.
