Dorothy June Crouch, 89 was called peacefully to be in the arms of our Heavenly Father on January 1, 2021. She was born on June 6, 1931 to Ralph and Ruby (Lutes) Anderson at the home of her parents in Surprise, Indiana. She attended Cortland High School. She married Elmer Crouch on June 12, 1948 and they celebrated 49 years of marriage before his passing in 1997.
She is survived by her children – Stephen (Linda Cozee) Crouch, Carolyn June (Jim) Clark, Raymond Crouch, Lester (Jennifer) Crouch, Leigh Ann (Dwayne) Howell and Daryl (Susan) Crouch; 11 grandchildren – Jennifer Ruminski, Lora Lambert, Bryan Clark, Beth Schoenberg, Allen Crouch, Amy Crouch, Kenda Cook, Tracy Broaddus, Tyler Crouch, Allyson Crouch and Eli Crouch; 8 great grandchildren – Courtni Clark, Josh Schoenberg, Sam Schoenberg, Emily Schoenberg, Mitchell Ruminski, Nathaniel Ruminski, Isaac Johnson, and Naomi Crouch; one great great grandchild – Amiyah Clark; two sisters – Clara Claycamp and Carol Nichalson and a host of beloved nieces, nephews and step-grandchildren.
Dorothy was preceded in passing by her husband, parents, four brothers – Jim Anderson, Jack Anderson, Roy Anderson, Bobby Anderson and two sisters – Donna Heiman and Emma Sorley Riffe.
Dorothy retired from the US Postal Service after 40 plus years of service and not being able to be a homebody then worked at the Southport Meijer for an additional 15 years.
Dorothy was a member of Bluff Creek Christian Church and also attended Pleasant Grove Christian Church. A very special claim to fame was that at two different times in her life she was a part of a 5 Generation lineage. Her passion in life was to bowl and was a 50 (+) year member of the National Woman's Bowling League and won many awards including a State Games of America's gold medal during her bowling career. She would always tell you to keep that thumb at 11 o'clock and bring that arm up over your shoulder! She graced the stage of The Price Is Right show winning her prize package and will be remembered playing the piano, guitar, singing and crocheting beautiful blankets.
