Lucas, Andrew Dean, 86, of Moundsville, went home to be with the lord on Saturday March 24, 2012.

He was born in Bloomfield OH, on August 11, 1925, a son of the late Frank Earl Lucas and Mary C Laidacker Lucas. He was a veteran of the US Navy where he served as a seaman first class during WWII. He was awarded the American Area Campaign Medal, the WWII Victory Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He was a faithful member of Temple Baptist Church in Moundsville where he was a deacon as well as a youth leader and a Sunday School teacher. Andrew retired from PPG Industries after over 30 plus years of service and was employed in many facets of the operations during his tenure with the company.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his loving wife of 63 years, Mary Belle Brooks Taylor Lucas in 2011; one grandson, Joseph Blake; three brothers, William , Frank and Robert Lucas; six sisters, Mary Jane Bryg, Dorothy Lucas, Ruth Ann Kershuk, Naomi Jean Archer, Virginia Ellen Smythe and an infant sister, Alice Marie.

Andrew is survived by, son, Robert Dean Lucas (Darla) of Moundsville; daughter, Cindy Blake of Moundsville and her special friend Charles Lowe of Follansbee WV; three brothers, Donald Lucas of Dover DE; Michael Lucas (Olga) of Crown Point IN and James Lucas ( Marilyn ) of Sistersville WV; two sisters, Frances Thurman of Sistersville WV; and Nancy Forrester of Middlebourne WV; five grandchildren, Amy Beth Lucas of Wheeling; Alison Stanley (Bernie) of VA; Carly Lucas of Moundsville; Steven Blake (Tracy) of Az; Catherine Mae Blake of Fl, Eleven Great Grandchildren; Several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; an Extra special sister-in–law, Sandra Belle Taylor and "Adopted Daughters", Eve Gellner and Maggie Smith and far too many other loving Family & Friends to list.

Visitation for Andrew will be held on Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes, Kirby-Vance Chapel 118 Grant Avenue, Moundsville WV from 3 - 8:30PM Funeral Services will be held at the Funeral Home at 2PM on Wednesday March 28, 2012, with Rev Jim Higginson of Temple Baptist Church, interment and committal to follow at Riverview Cemetery Moundsville with Military Honors by the Moundsville Honor Guard.
