Daughter of Samuel White Agnew and Elizabeth Ann [née Sharpe] Agnew

Wife of Samuel Fredric Nance; with whom she had the following known children:
Samuel Eugene (1884-1956)
John Agnew "Johnie" (1888-1971)
Anna May (1890-1930)
Frederick Nance (1895-1896)
Jeanette (1896-1913)
George M. (1900-1961)
Roy Agnew (1904-1977)

At the age of 12, young Fannie, along with her sister, Annie and brothers, Alfred & John were the first of 10 children to move into the newly opened Thornwell Orphanage in Clinton, South Carolina. The orphanage was organized by Dr. William Plumer Jacobs, pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Clinton.
