On October 1st 1875, Annie Agnew along with her sister, Frances "Fannie" and brothers, Robert Alfred and John Enoch; moved into the newly opened Thornwell Orphanage in Clinton, South Carolina. Their parents had died a few years earlier and were members of Greenville Presbyterian Church in Donalds, South Carolina.
Annie Eliza Agnew married Robert Hillary Devlin after the death of his first wife, Alice Green Devlin in 1888. Annie and Robert Devlin would have four children, three sons and a daughter.
Annie lived to the age of 89, departing this life on June 25th 1958. She was laid to rest beside her husband, Robert and sons in the churchyard cemetery at Cedar Springs A.R.P.
