   Margaret E. Boyer Starnes was born in March 1848 at Roxand Township, Eaton County, Michigan to Timothy Boyer and Mary (Dean) Boyer. The family may have moved a few times while Margaret was young. They were living in Georgetown, Missouri by August 1860.
   When she was 15 years old, Maggie married William Frank Starnes in McDonough County, Illinois on December 10, 1863. They had 8 children (1 of whom was adopted): Minnie D., Edward C., Elizabeth A., William Bert, Maude, Walter Fay, Gene, Margaret
   Her father was a music teacher and his 1890 obituary says that Maggie was "a composer of some note."
   Margaret became a widow in 1914 and in 1920 she was living in Beebe, Arkansas with her adopted daughter, Gene. Margaret Starnes died in White County, Arkansas on January 21, 1928 and was likely buried beside her husband in the Beebe Cemetery.
