Ms. Gertrude Eleanor Auwerda, age 82, of Cherokee Village, AR., died Friday, March 23, 2012, at the Ash Flat Nursing & Rehab Center.
She was born on August 1, 1929, in Oak Park, Illinois, to the late Barney and Agnes Voordewind Auwerda.
Gertrude moved to Cherokee Village in 1984, she was a homemaker and a member of Abundant Life Church in Highland. She actively participated in T.O.P.S.
Survivors include many nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
Gertrude was preceded in death by her parents; a stepmother, Harriett Auwerda; sister, Theresa DeGraaf, and brothers, Peter and Nicholas Auwerda.
A memorial service was held at the Abundant Life Church in Highland
