Wilma Evelyn Gentry, 91, of Boise, passed away on Friday, March 23, 2012 at Grace Assisted Living in Boise, Idaho.

Evelyn was born on January 30, 1921 in Star, Idaho to Belus and Mae Beauchamp. She was raised in the Canyon County area and graduated from Nampa High School in 1939.

In 1942 she graduated from the Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, and that same year she married Stan Newman and together they raised three children, Gary, Sharon, and Vicki in Nyssa, Oregon. Evelyn worked most of her life as an RN at various hospitals, clinics, and then traveled with the Red Cross Mobile Unit in Boise. She enjoyed golf, bridge, and always loved having music around her.

In 1983 Evelyn married Ray Gentry and they moved to Rupert, Idaho. They enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and spending winters in Bullhead City, Arizona. After Ray died in 1999 Evelyn made Bullhead City her permanent home until 2007 when she moved to Boise to be closer to her family.

Evelyn was a member of the Christian Church in Rupert and Bullhead City. She had a strong belief in God, a sunny outlook, and loved her family dearly.

Wilma is survived by her children, Gary Newman, Sharon (Chuck) Binder, and Vicki Binder; her grandchildren, Michelle (Steve) Kinzer, Lance Binder, Traci Wright, Bret (Shannon) Binder; 10 great-grandchildren; her stepchildren, Gary Gentry, Patsy Price, Claudia Meireis, and seven stepgrandchildren.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, and older brother, Harold Beauchamp.

A graveside inurnment service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at Cloverdale Memorial Park.
