-- ROCK HILL - Mr. James Barber was born March 4, 1924 to the late Mary Barber. He was reared by his grandmother, the late Partenia Knox Barber and an uncle, the late Wille Otis Barber.

On February 14, James peacefully entered into eternal rest at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, S.C.

He attended public school in Leslie, S.C. Later, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, which engaged him in the World War II conflict. Upon his return home, he lived a very quiet and solitude life with his grandmother and uncle before their deaths.

Left with cherishable memories is a very special cousin/cartaker, Larry Brown of the home. Others who shared memories, resided and grew up in the home are Dennis, Terry, the late Charles Barber, Jermaine, Vaughn and a host of devoted cousins.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, 2007 at Parker Funeral Home

The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, 2007 at Parker Funeral Home, with the Rev. Loretta Adams officiating. Burial will be at Barber Memorial Cemetery.

Parker Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
