Charles Jackman, Former Resident, Dies in California.
Charles E. Jackman, a former resident of the Darlington community and also of Crawfordsville, died Saturday at his home in Ontario, Calif., following an extended illness. News of Mr. Jackman's death was received Monday morning by telegram addressed to his nephew, Noble Jackman, 407 Wallace Ave.
Mr. Jackman was the son of Willis and Susan Flaningam Jackkman and was born in Montgomery County. He was married to Emma Naugle, who preceded him in death.
Mr. Jackman was the last of the family of six sons and one daughter. Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents and his wife, were five brothers, James, Arch, Cary, Frank and John Jackman, and one sister, Mrs. Lilly Driver. Several nephews survive.
Mr. Jackman was engaged in the real estate business in Crawfordsville at the time of his removal to California some 25 years ago.
Mr. Jackman was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge in Darlington.
Funeral services and burial will take place in Ontario, Calif., Wednesday afternoon. He will be buried beside the grave of his wife.
