She was born on Oct. 24, 1921, in Redkey, Ind., and was a daughter of the late Russell and Ina Heniscey Rantz.
Mrs. Hilliard was a lifetime resident of the REdkey area. She worked at Hampton Bakery in Redkey and later at the Box Shop. She retired from Kerr Glass in Dunkirk. She was a member of the North Meridian St. United Methodist Church for more than 50 years, the Care & Share Group and Local Union 96.
Her husband, Churchill T. Hilliard, died in 1975.
She is survived by two sons, Kenneth M. Hilliard of Portland, Ind., and Dennis D. Hilliard of Bluffton, Ind.; two daughters, Connie Hilliard of Redkey, Ind., and Marcia Elwood of Maryville, Tenn.; three sisters, Helen Joyce Earling of Leesburg, Fla., Mary Friddle of Redkey, Ind., and Wanda Buckles of Waco, Texas; nine grandchldren and eight great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was conducted on Saturday, Dec. 27, at M.J.S Mortuaries-Redkey Chapel.
Burial was in the Hillcrest Cemetery.
