Kenneth “Ken” M. Hilliard, 71, of Bluffton, passed away Wednesday afternoon, June 12, 2019, at Christian Care Retirement Community.

Ken was born in Portland on Apr. 11, 1948, to Churchill and Theodotta (Rantz) Hilliard. He married Sherry Brown in Huntington on June 20, 1970; she survives.

A 1966 graduate of Redkey High School, Ken served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1968 until 1970. He retired as a toolmaker from Pax Machine Works in Celina, OH.

In addition to his wife, Ken is survived by a son, Jon (Nicole) Hilliard of Edwardsburg, MI; a daughter, Lora (Denny) Lough of Huntington; four grandchildren, Madison, Olivia, and Tyler Lough, and Michael Hilliard; two sisters, Connie Hilliard of Portland and Marcia Elwood of Louisville, TN; and a brother, Dennis Hilliard of Ossian.

He was preceded in death by his parents, along with an infant sister, Ella Elaine Hilliard.

A graveside service and burial will be Friday, June 14, 2019, at 10:00 AM, at Hillcrest Cemetery in Redkey, officiated by Pastor Paul VanCise. Goodwin – Cale & Harnish Memorial Chapel in Bluffton has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to Bryant Wesleyan Church Building Fund.
