Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Andrew Catholic Church in Murphysboro, with the Rev. Kim Maguire and Father Gary Gummersheimmer officiating.
She was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church and St. Andrew Altar Society. During her younger years, she was on the Buster Brown softball team. She sang for a radio show on WJPF as one of the Calandro Sisters.
She was born June 12, 1920, in Murphysboro to Andrew and Frances (Schiro) Calandro. She married William Arthur Bittle, chief dispatcher for the GM&O Railroad and owner of Bittle Orchards in Alto Pass. He preceded her in death.
She is survived by a daughter, Judy Bittle; a grandson, whom she raised as a son, William "Bill" Draper; three sisters,
Pauline Tomlinson, Nettie Boyer Graff of Murphysboro and Clara Ferrari of New Haven, Mo.; and a brother, Joseph Calandro of Murphysboro.
She was preceded in death by her parents and six siblings.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois. Pettett Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
