LOGAN, Utah ­- Ora Egbert Bennett, 88, passed away following a short illness on Nov. 19, 2000, at her home in Logan, Utah, surrounded by her children and grandchildren.

She was born Sept. 17, 1912, in Layton, Utah, the daughter of Joseph Andrew and Laura Burton Egbert. She married Marion Hodson Bennett in Ogden, Utah, on March 2, 1931. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. She moved from Kaysville to Preston, Idaho, 55 years ago where they had a small farm. In 1992, she and her husband moved to Logan, Utah, where she currently resided.

Ora held many positions in the church including Stake Young Women's secretary, dance director, and many callings in the Relief Society. She enjoyed bowling, crafts, sports, and attending grandchildren's activities. She was an avid Utah Jazz fan. She took pride in having a well-kept yard. The highlight of her day was a visit from her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by two daughters and one son, Jane B. Smith, Logan, Marjene (Kerry) Campbell, Logan, M. Paul (Lila Rae) Bennett, Kaysville, Utah; 15 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; two sisters and one brother, Welma E. Page, Layton, Utah, Fern E. Bagley, Layton, Utah, and Dean Egbert, Layton, Utah. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion, by a brother, Howard Egbert, and by a son-in-law, Theron Smith.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2000, in the Brookhaven LDS Church, 190 N. Country Lane (1100 E. 190 N.), Kaysville, Utah, with Bishop Myron Richins conducting. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Webb Funeral Home, 109 E. Oneida, Preston, Idaho, and from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Brookhaven Chapel.

Burial will be in the Kaysville Cemetery.

The family wishes to extend their thanks to Dr. Bruce Isaacson for his concern and loving care during her illness. We appreciate all those who have willingly given of their time over the years to care for mother.
