John Demary was born in Boston about 1728 to French emigrant parents. He married Rebecca Corneille, whose parents were also native of France. Previous to moving to Rindge they had resided in Billerica and Lunenburg, MA. In 1763 he moved with his wife and six children to Rindge, NH. John and Rebecca had eleven children. John was a Revolutionary Soldier and served two terms in the Army, he was a signatory of the "Association Test" in Rindge in 1776. Two of his sons, John Jr. and Thomas were also Soldiers in the Revolution, John Jr. was killed in 1781. John died in November of 1807.
