Born September 28, 1908, the second of twelve children, to Walter and Eva Pulsipher Clegg. He was born in Cleveland, Utah but spent most of his youth in Elmo, Utah.
He is survived by his wife of twenty years, Winnie Elizabeth Christensen Peterson Clegg of Salt Lake City; brothers, Joseph and Florence Clegg, and Samuel and Carrie Clegg, of Salt Lake City; Henry and Deloris Clegg, of Lehi, Utah; and Arthur and Rhoda Clegg, of Huntington, Utah; one sister, Bertha and Larry Workman of Salt Lake City; two granddaughters, Lerene and Michael Rachiele of Houston, Texas; and Carol Sue Caspango of California; one grandson, William Preston of Burley, Idaho; three great-granddaughters; and one great-grandson.
With his second marriage, he joyfully acquired four step-sons, two step-daughters, and their families whom he loved dearly and who loved him.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Cora May Rogers Clegg, to whom he was sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple; also one son, William Preston Clegg.
He served in various callings in the LDS Church, including ordinance worker in the Salt Lake Temple, Sunday School president, and High Priest quorum secretary, all of which he did faithfully and well until a stroke forced him to quit. He was a member of the Wilson Ward for the past twenty-five years. He was a resident of Johanna's Nursing Home at the time of his death, where he died of natural causes.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 3, 1993 in the Wilson Ward Chapel, 1860 South 300 East. Friends may call at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple Street, on Thursday evening, December 2, 1993, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 10:00-10:45 a.m.
Interment: Larkin Sunset Gardens.
