Nellie Bonner, age 84, of Clovis, New Mexico, passed away on Monday, March 12, 2012 at Clovis Healthcare and Rehab in Clovis, New Mexico. Nellie was born on October 17, 1927 to Jesse and Ruth (Giles) Hawkins in Clovis, New Mexico. Nellie graduated from Scott & White Nursing School in Temple, Texas. Nellie married Thomas A. Bonner on June 28, 1956 in Clovis New Mexico. He preceded her in death. Nellie was an RN for Drs. Moss, Boese and Abshere. Nellie retired with thirty-one years of service. Nellie was a member of Central Baptist Church in Clovis. Nellie is survived by three sons, Ed Bonner and his wife, Sharon of Bel Air, Maryland; Tommy Bonner and his wife, Marianne of Wichita Falls, Texas and Jim Bonner and his wife, Melinda of Clovis, New Mexico; ten grandchildren, Michele Moore, Michael Bonner, Mitch Bonner, Heather Ladd, Tiffany Hooker, Thomas Bonner, Jordan Bonner, Blake Bonner, Bethany Bonner, and Tyler Bonner; thirteen great-grandchildren; and one sister, Lois Burmeister. Nellie is preceded in death by her parents; one brother, J.L. Hawkins; and one sister, Tina Jolly. Visitation is from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 16, 2012 at Steed-Todd Funeral Home, 800 E. Manana Blvd., Clovis, New Mexico. Services are at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at Steed-Todd Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dick Ross, officiating. Interment will be at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens, Clovis, New Mexico. Casket bearers are Nellie's six grandsons, Michael, Mitch, Thomas, Jordan, Blake and Tyler Bonner. Memorial contributions may be made to Central Baptist Church, 2501 N. Norris, Clovis, NM 88101.
