Madaline (Madeline) was the daughter of Lewis C. Renouf of Stockton Springs, Waldo County, Maine and Josephine E. Perry Renouf of Province of Prince Edward Island, Canada. Josephine and Lewis were married on 06 April 1907 in Bangor, Penobscot County, Maine. Josephine and Lewis had children.

Madaline married Isaac Edward Staples on 25 December 1926 in Belfast, Waldo County, Maine. Madeline and Ed had seven children. They were: Richard Owen Staples was born on 28 January 1928; Robert E. Staples was born on 15 February 1929; Helen Louise Staples was born on 21 April 1930; Dorothy Alice Staples was born on 23 June 1931; Carol Elizabeth Staples was born on 24 December 1932; Paul R. Staples was born on 20 February 1936; and Ralph Staples was born on .

She was born in Bangor, 06 September 1907, the daughter of Lewia C. and Josephine E. (Perry) Renouf. Madeline was a graduate of Crosby High School, Belfast and was a homemaker and a long time resident of Brewer. Surviving are four children, Helen Bredesen and her husband, Richard of Overland Park, Kansas, Dorothy Giles and her husband, Lewis of Hampton, Ralph Staples and his wife, Elizabeth of Bangor, Paul Staples and his wife, Betty of Bangor; 14 grandchildren, 10 great-grand- children; one brother-in-law, Arthur and his wife, Bobbie Staples of Union. She was predeceased by three children, Richard, Robert and Carol Staples; and two sisters-in- law, Mary Grace Staples, and Florence Staples Lincoln. Friends may call 6 - 8 p.m. Thursday at Kiley-Birmingham Funeral Home, 69 State Street, Brewer, where funeral servives will be held 2 p.m. Friday, with Maj. Glenn Avery, of the Salvation Army, officiating. Spring burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Brewer.

Note: Madaline was the spelling of her name on her State of Maine birth certificate. But everything else pertaining to her name her name spelled Madeline. The actual spelling should have been as shown on her birth certificate. But her marriage certificate and her tombstone all spell her name as Madeline.
