Ferd C Brooks, 76, of 308 W. Main Street, a retired farmer and civic leader of the community, died Thursday in his home.
Mr. Brooks was a member of the First Methodist Church.
He was a 50 year member of the Petersburg Grange, served as a director of the Carroll County Farm Bureau Co-Operative Board, director of the Carroll Electric Co-Operative and served 4 years on the Carrollton Exempted Village School Board.
He leaves his widow, Mrs. Lena Mikesell Brooks; 2 sons, Joseph H. Brooks of Circleville, Ohio and Gibert M. Brooks of Cleveland; a daughter, Mrs. George Manfull of Elyria, Ohio, a sister Mrs. J. R. Tope of Minerva, Ohio and 5 grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Allmon Funeral Home from 2-4pm and 7-9pm Saturday.
Services there Sunday at 2:30pm
Burial Fairview Cemetery, Jewett.
