Joyce Jennings Maxwell, 81, died Friday, March 13, 2009, at Windcrest Alzheimer's Care Center in Abilene.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Monday at Hamil Family Funeral Home Chapel , 6449 Buffalo Gap Road, with Gary Montgomery officiating. Burial will be in Clyde Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Born in Inadale, Texas, on August 27, 1927, she was the daughter of Edna Zell (Coleman) and Jess Authornal Jennings. Joyce was a 1945 graduate of Clyde High School, and married M. B. Maxwell in Clyde on August 7, 1945. She was a homemaker and a member of Baker Heights Church of Christ in Abilene. She had been a volunteer at Hendrick Medical Center and a teachers aide at Sands Elementary School in Ackerly, Texas.
Her parents; a daughter-in-law, Penny Maxwell; and a brother, Wilford "Bill" Jennings, preceded her in death.
