I think this death certificate has some incorrect information. John Collins, born in Ohio in 1839 served in the 1st Iowa Infantry and died in Dec. 1913 in DeSoto, MO. He lived in Iowa for many years and ALL cenusu records have his name as John Collins with no middle name or initial and list his birth place as Ohio. I cannot find John Wilson Collins anywhere except this memorial, this death cert, and a small death notice in the newspaper. John's parents were George and Ann Collins and he had several siblings.
