Charlotte Ann McDaniel was born at Oak Hill, Missouri on June 1, 1882 to the union of Joshua Chewning and Mary Eizadie Chewning nee Souders and passed away March 10, 1964 at the Jewish Hosiptal in St.Louis, Missouri at the age of 81 years, 9 months, and 9 days. She was united in marriage to Samuel McDaniel March 31, 1901 at Jake's Prairie, Missouri. To this union seven children were born. Those who preceeded her in death were her husband, one daughter Grace Rury, three sisters Belle Jenkins, Jennie Collier, Fannie Renyolds, one brother George Washington. Those who survive her passing are six children, Molly Seidel, Emagene Poe, Peggy Martin, E.J. and Victor McDaniel of St.Louis and Avery McDaniel of Bland, Missouri, four sisters, Zora Markley, Molly Beamer of Cuba, Missouri, Ruth Raish of St.Louis, and Lee Collier of Blue Mound, Ill.; 7 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, sons-in-laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Mrs. McDaniel lives a faithful Christian life, was a member of Union Methodist Church and the WSCS of St.Louis, and the Royal Neighbors Of America. Mrs. McDaniel lay in state at the Hofmeister Colonial Mortuary in St.Louis with the services in the Chapel at 9:00 Friday March 13, 1964, then was moved to the Cuba Methodist Church at Cuba, Missouri, with final services at 2:00 with Rev. J.C. Montgomery officating. Interment beside her husband was in Kinder Cemetery in Cuba. Serving as pall bearers were Paul Raish, Eli Knight, Ralph McDaniel, Charles Markley, and Doc Raish.
