John C. Swinnev. 76. retired grocer of Mt.. Pulaski, father of Mrs. J. E. Rammel and brother of Mrs. Beulah Endicott of Decatur, died Tuesday at his home following a year's illness.
He was born Sept. 28, 1866, near Equality. He married Eva Rice.
He leaves his wife, one son, Lloyd of Mt. Pulaski, eight daughters, Mrs. Rammel, Decatur;, Mrs. F. E. Swartz Champaign; Mrs. John Vandevender, Mt. Pulaski; Mrs. Carl Zelle, St. Louis: Mrs. Elmer Daniels, Blue Mound; Mrs. Harold Beidler, Chicago: Mrs. George Pattison and Miss Reba Swinney. both of Springfield; two sisters, Mrs. Endicott, Decatur, and Mrs. Lulu Pillo, Marion; and one brother, Charles, of Marion.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p. m. Thursday in Mt. Pulaski Methodist church, with burial in Mount Pulaski cemetery.
