During the American Revolution Warren enlisted twice in the Massachusetts milita. On Oct.25, 1779 he enlisted as a Private in Captain Joseph Raymond's Company, Colonel Israel Chapin's Regiment. He served one month and one day at Claverack, NY. The regiment was raised to reinforce the Continental Army. He enlisted again on July 21, 1780 as a Private in Captain William Foord's Company, Colonel John Brown's Regiment. He served three months and six days.
Following the death of his father, in 1783, he became the head of the household.
Warren and Polly had 10 children: Warren, Elisha, Polly (married Zebulon Isham), Sophia (married John Gordon Douglas), Harriet (married Christopher Davis), Electa (married Asaph Colegrove), John, David, and Sally.
