Ina Porter Hatch died at her home, August 12, 1977, of cancer.
She was 83. Born December 25, 1893, Franklin, Idaho to Benjamin P. Porter and Henrietta J. Dowdle. Married Lorenzo H. Hatch, June 20, 1917, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died November 27, 1971.
She attended the old Brigham Young Academy in Logan, and was graduated from the former Utah State Agricultural College. She was a member of Sorority Alpha Chi Omega; Forest Dale Literary Club; and the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She filled many church positions on the ward and stake level in the Relief Society, MIA and youth programs. Her greatest interests were literature, history and teaching.
She is survived by two sons, and a daughter, Dr. L. Wayne Hatch, Mrs. Douglas N. (Catherine) Thompson, both Salt Lake City; Dr. Robert L. Hatch, LaVerne, Calif.; one son preceded her in death, Dr. Hyrum P. Hatch; six grandchildren; Sharon H. Gunnell, Mrs. Godfrey K. (Cathy T.) Kaonohi, Mary Lynne Thompson, Robert D. Thompson, Gregory Hatch, David W. Hatch, 3 great-grandchildren.
