Robert Emmett Dernbach

Bob was born September 5, 1922 in Portland, Oregon, the 14th child of 17 children to John Lawrence Dernbach and Mary Catherine O'Donnell. He passed away March 11, 2012 at his home in Puyallup, WA. He enlisted in the U.S. Army during WWII and was in the Paratrooper Division from 1944 - 1946. On August 21, 1948 he married Dolores Ziesmer and they were married almost 60 years when she passed away in 2007. Bob stated the D & D Plastics Company in Tacoma, WA. It was the first plastic pot manufacturing company in the State of Washington.

His hobbies included woodworking, gardening and camping at Lake Chelan and Mt. Rainer. He was a member of the Elks, Knights of Columbus and a longtime parish member of All Saints Catholic Church in Puyallup.

Robert is survived by his 6 children: David Dernbach, Arthur (Frances) Dernbach, Mary (Rodney) Amundson, Barbara (Denny) Rodgers, Patricia (Ed) Knoben and Debra Carter (Matt) Chambers; 2 sisters, Bernice Beatrice Wusz and Mary Jane Seath, and 1 brother, Monsignor Arthur Paul Dernbach.

Bob's 9 surviving grandchildren are: Kimberly & Elliott Dernbach, Ashley, Stefan & Lauren Dernbach, Timothy & Aubrey Rodgers and Nichole & Kevin Knoben. His 1 surviving great-grandchild is: Alithia Claire Smith.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, March 19, 2012 at All Saints Catholic Church in Puyallup, WA.
