Jack Robert Harris, 71, a resident of 218 Waveland Ave., died at 2:45 a.m. Sunday at his home after a long illness.
Dwight Conley and Hillard Preston of the Danville-Boyle County Rescue Squad were called to the Harris home. He was dead at the scene.
Mr. Harris was born Sept. 19, 1908, in Lincoln County, son of the late Jack Craig and Nancy Chapel Harris. He was a retired farmer and carpenter, a charter member of Indian Hills Christian Church and a member of Franklin Lodge No.28,F&AM.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Elizabeth Ross Harris; a son, Danny Lee Harris of Danville; a daughter, Mrs. Charles L. (Iva Jean) Stull of Stanford; a brother, James Harris of Cincinnati, Ohio; a sister, Mrs. Joseph Shannon of Indianapolis, Ind.; and three grandchildren and six foster grandchildren.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Indian Hills Christian Church by the Rev. Odis Clark with burial in Bellevue Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral.
Masonic services will be conducted at 7 p.m. today at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home where visitation is being held.
