Obituary:
Burial of Mr. J. C. Harris
Mr. Jack Craig Harris died at his home in Highland, August 11th, after an illness of several years duration. He was born in Lincoln County, August 3, 1861, and was the son of George Washington Harris and Lucinda Harris. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Elizabeth Chappell and eight sons, Eddie Harris, of Kansas City, Ollie Harris, of Indianapolis, Arthur Harris, of Toledo, Ohio, Walter Harris and J. C., Jr., of Highland, Burney Harris, of Burlington, Va., James Manford Harris, of Cincinnati, and three daughters, Ruby Harris, of Newton, O., and Stella and Exie Harris, of Indianapolis. Two brothers survive him also, John Smith Harris and Will Huffman Harris. Burial took place on August 12th at Mr. Moriah church. Arthur, his son, conducted services at the home and Rev. Henry Hall at the church. The pall-bearers were Ivan Padgett, Conley Stephens, John Green, Thurlee Goley, Arvill Padgett and Russell Skidmore. His favorite songs were sung at the home and church, which was filled with friends and neighbors. The funeral was in charge of J. M. Reynolds, Waynesburg, who also spoke a few words of consolation to the family.
