Mrs. Lenora "Lee" Pickel, 70, died Sunday, Jan. 5 (1986) at Hadley Hosptial in Hays. She was born Oct. 1, 1915, in Russell Co. to John D. and Lydia (Dietz) Bender. All her life was spent in Russell community. She worked in Duckwall's and after 1963 at J.C. Penney Store, retiring in 1978. She first married Louis Wells about 1935. She later married Walter O. Pickle Sept. 3, 1953, at Russell. He died April 23, 1963.

Survivors: a son, Kenneth R. Wells, Mission, KS; a daughter, Mrs. Francis (Donna) Bittle, Dodge City; three sisters, Mrs. Isabel Trapp; Mrs. Ruth Tuzicka, and Mrs. Grant (Mary) Rose, all of Russell; eight grandchildren and six gt. grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wed. Jan. 8, at St. John Lutheran Church, Rev. Robert Lundgren officiating. Burial will be in St. John Lutheran Cem. Pohlman's Mortuary in charge.
