One day Sarah Farrell went to visit with her sister, Margaret, and Margaret's husband, Ernest Maxwell Kraetke. She ended up staying for more than forty years and was a very important and loved member of the Kraetke family. Sarah never married, although she had a gentleman friend who came calling every day, with flowers in hand.

According to the 1900 Federal Census, Sarah resided in Detroit, Michigan, with her widowed mother, three sisters, a brother-in-law, and a niece on Morris Street in Detroit. She was employed, however the type of occupation could not be deciphered. By 1910, Sarah was living in her sister's home on Hurlbut Street in Detroit and was not employed. In 1920, she was still residing with the Kraetke family on Burns Avenue in Detroit and was employed as a bath attendant in a school.Father: Michael Farrell
