Edward was the son of William Fessenden Beasley and Mary Sidney Hewett of Louisville KY. He earned his medical degree from Hopkins. He married Calvert Myers in 1917 and they had one child, Annette

He served as a doctor in WWI. Ater the war, he took special studies at Harvard in preventive medicine.

In later life, he spent his time designing jewelry and inventing such things as a thermometer that didn't need to be shaken down after use. He paid a genealogist to trace the Beasley back to the original Robert Beasley in North Carolina.

He lived in Ruxton, but according to his granddaughter he died in Pocono Pines, PA where he would spend the summers.
