Frieda Vander Ploeg, 86, of Sioux Center died Tuesday, July 25, at Sioux Center Community Hospital Nursing Facility.
Memorial services were at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at New Life Reformed Church in Sioux Center with the Revs. Carl Boersma and Brook Stephens officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Sioux Center.
Mrs. Vander Ploeg was born June 15, 1914, in Hull, the daughter of the Rev. Luke and Maggie (De Jong) Brunsting.
She married Arthur Vander Ploeg on June 15, 1937, in Sioux Center. He died November 12, 1991.
Survivors include a son and his wife, Stanley and Rejonna of Sioux Center; three daughters, Margery and her husband, Howard Beernink of Sioux Center, Arlis and her husband Gerry Vande Garde of Bloomington, Minnesota, and Belva Van Gorp of Sheldon; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother, the Rev. Dr. Bernard Brunsting of Stuart, Florida.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Albert Brunsting; a sister, Margaret Kneppe; and infant son, Conrad; a grandson, Lee Beernink; an infant granddaughter, Lynne Beernink; and a son-in-law, Elwin Van Gorp.
