OBITUARY: MRS. BERTA ROBERTSON, 91, IS DEAD -
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in McNary Moore Chapel for Mrs. Berta Elizabeth Robertson, 91 , member of a pioneer Colusa county family, who died last night in Eskaton Colusa Healthcare Center.
Mrs. Robertson, a native of Sycamore and long time resident of Colusa county was born June 26, 1881, one of eight children of the late Mr. and Mrs. Peter Earp, early day Colusa County settlers. Mr. Earp came to California in a covered wagon. Mrs. Robertson attended school at Sycamore. She was married to Samuel F. Robertson and lived a brief time in Sutter county. Mr. Robertson died in 1938.
Mrs. Robertson made her home in Colusa for many years with her sister Mrs. Mary Messick and moved to Grimes in January, 1966, to live with a niece, Mrs. Dorothy Bowden. She was member of the Christian Church of Colusa and took an active part in church activities.
In June, 1971, scores of friends and relatives paid honor to Mrs. Robertson at a party in the Grimes Scout cabin on the occasion of her 90th birthday anniversary.
Throughout the years she made scores of friends who will be saddened at news of her passing.
Survivers include a sister Mrs. Emma McMaines of Gridley; two nieces, Dorothy Bowden of Grimes and Eleanor Starnater of Paradise and numerous great nieces and great nephews.
Internment will be in the Meridian Cemetery [Colusa Sun Herald, Tuesday, October 31, 1972].
