Hiram married Eva Lenora Alexander, daughter of William Reuben & Permelia Melissa (Morris) Alexander, on January 1, 1896. They moved to Oklahoma with their young son Everett in 1900 and settled in Payne County for approximately 10 years before moving to Lincoln County. By the 1930's Hiram had moved his growing family back to Linn County. To this marriage was born two boys, Everett Maurice (1896), Hiram Glenn (1901) and two daughters, Rena Blanche (1905) and Eva Sibbyl (1908). His granddaughter remembers visiting every summer and enjoying fresh watermelon that her grandfather had put in the cold cellar the day before. Hiram died at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri from congestive heart failure. He was survived by his wife Eva and she lived to be 91.
