Funeral services for Mrs. Abbie G. Kitchen, 75, of 501 Cedar street, wife of the late Clyde Kitchen, will be held Friday morning at 10 o'clock at the Roland funeral home, the Rev. Lester Hancock of Woodward officiating. Interment will be in the Atlantic cemetery. The family will meet relatives and friends from 7:30 to 9 o'clock Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Mrs. Kitchen died suddenly at 9:30 Tuesday morning at the Atlantic Memorial hospital, where she had been a patient ten days.
She was born in Cass county May 3, 1888, the daughter of Thaddeus and Ida Elizabeth Noyer and was married to Mr. Kitchen June 12, 1912, at the Acker home southeast of Atlantic. Mrs. Kitchen was a former Cass county school teacher, was a member of the Methodist church and Eastern Star and a charter member of the Busy Bee club. Mr. Kitchen died Aug. 3, 1940.
Surviving are three sons, Dr. Claire Kitchen of Oskaloose, Dr. Carl Kitchen of Cedar Rapids and Merle Kitchen of Katonah, N.Y.; two daughters, Shirley Kitchen of Atlantic and Mrs. Al Younger of Anaheim, Calif; five brothers, A.M. Acker of Wiota, Clifton Acker of Griswold, Clayton and Clarence Acker of Atlantic and LeRoy Acker of Massena, 13 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
