Ruby L. Casteel, 89, of Life Care Center of Greeneville, died Wednesday evening at the center.
Mrs. Casteel was a homemaker and the widow of the Rev. Elmer Casteel.
She was a member of the House of the Lord Church.
Her family noted that "she was a loving, kind, and courageous mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother, always having a smile for those with whom she came in contact, putting others before herself."
Survivors include four daughters and sons-in-law: Liz and Doyle Arwood of Greeneville, Martha and the Rev. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. today at Kiser Funeral Home and other times at the home of Bill and Regina Casteel.
The funeral service will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon at House of the Lord Church with interment in River Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Kenneth Harper, the Rev. Jeff Casteel, and the Rev. Kevin Casteel will officiate.
The body will be taken to the church to lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service.
