THE BARTON COUNTY DEMOCRAT
Great Bend, Kansas
Friday, January 20, 1911
Mrs. Direxa David was born in Rush county, Ind., June 3, 1829 and passed away Jan. 9, 1911, at the age of 81 years, 7 months and 6 days, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Thomas Flick, west of town, after a short illness.
She was married to Michael David May 25, 1848, and to this union were born four children, one having passed to the great beyond before the mother, and three surviving her. The children are Mrs. J. H. Flick, Pawnee Rock, Mrs. Thomas Flick of west of town, and Mrs. Andrew Henderson of near Larned. The family moved to Pawnee county, Kan., Feb. 22, 1874, and have made it their home ever since.
Funeral services were held at the Thomas Flick home yesterday morning at 10:30, conducted by Rev. Myrick of the Christian church, and the remains were laid to rest in the Larned cemetery.
