Additional information was taken from US Census enumerations for 1900 (with parents and siblings in Whelchels, Hall, Georgia,) 1910 (with aunt (Laudie Stevens) in Bark Camp, Hall, Georgia,) and 1920 and 1930 (with spouse and children in Bark Camp;) 1918 World War I draft registration card; and Georgia Deaths, 1919-98 (Certificate 11510.)

Another contributor has suggested that William was born in Gainesville, Hall County, Georgia. No sources were provided, and I could confirm only that he was born in Georgia and lived in Hall County (although not in Gainesville) in 1900, 1920, and 1930.
