Issac Miles Kidwell practiced medicine and had a drug store in Pollock, Sullivan County, Missouri in the 1890's. Frederick Anderson Kidwell, oldest son of Issac was the owener and operator of the drug store in Green City, Mo. located on the west side of the square. Charles Luther Kidwell and Ora Elbert Kidwell son's of Frederick worked in the store in 1920's. Great grandson Basil Kidwell was a traveling pharmacist salesman and the states where he would go was Oklahoma, Missouri, and Colorado, and yes he did stop on Green City. His son James Alfred Kidwell who lived in Excelsior Springs, Missouri was also a pharmacist. His daughter Mary Etta Kidwell who was married to Issac Milton Roberts, Issac occupation was doctor of medicine, they lived in Wyaconda, Missouri. Daughter Myra Alice Kidwell, her husband was Alexander W. Widner, they lived in Newtown Missouri and he was a doctor for 53 years. Son William Henry Kidwell who lived in Goodman, Missouri was also a pharmacist. In 1935 Issac's great granddaughter Edna (Riley) Hensley and her husband Gilbert Hensley bought the Drug Store. Edna was the daughter of Laura May Kidwell and Laura's father was Frederick Anderson Kidwell. After Edna died Gilbert married Ruth Moddrell (a cousin of my mother's) and they operated the drug store until they sold it to Kyle and Doris Kent in 1961. This occupation was passed down to his children and grandchildren.
Elizabeth May (Kidwell) Newell daughter of Issac Miles Kidwell, was married to John Sheridan Newell his occupation was railroad agent and telegraph operator at the depot in Green City, Missouri.
My father William Joseph De Vries who was the great great grandson of Issac Miles Kidwell, worked in the drug store (part time) when his Uncle Gilbert Hensley and Kyle and Doris Kent had the store. His main occupation was a Rural Mail Carrier here in Green City, Missouri.
