Aaron was the son of Solomon and Katherine Hise. He was married to Mary J. Weldon on 3 June 1866 in Parke county, Indiana.

Aaron was a corporal in the Civil War. He enlisted as a Corp in Co C 18th Ind Inf on July 22, 1861 in Clinton, IN and was discharged Sept 24, 1862 in Helena, AR.
He re-enlisted as a Private in Co A 149th Ind Inf on Sept 20, 1864 in Montezuma, IN and was discharged July 18, 1865 in Decatur, AL at the close of the war.

Aaron was listed as widowed in the 1900 census living with his son Harry in Clinton. He lived in the US National Home for Disabled Soldiers in Danville, IL from 1902 to Sept 13, 1904 (Listed as dropped). Disability was paralysis contracted at Montezuma, AL

He applied and was granted a Civil War pension on 12/20/1888 app # 682317 pension cert #520489 Co C 18 Ind Infantry.
