Funeral services for John W. Shirley, 79, 231 24th Ave. East, will be today at 2 p.m. at Sulphur Springs Free Will Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Shirley died early Saturday night at Druid City Hospital.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Hattie Shirley; one son, Eugene Shirley of Tuscaloosa; three daughters, Mrs. Annabell Watkins of Berry, Mrs. Elzora Kimbrell of Berry and Mrs. Kathleen Reece of Elrod; 16 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Chris Shirley of Charlotte, N.C.
Active pallbearers include David Shirley, James Otis Shirley, J.C. Day, Elton Reece, Cullen Watkins and John Doyle Watkins.
