Sovereign of Scotland. Born according to some historians in 932 and originally as Cináed II Mac Maíl Coluim of the Mc Alpin dynasty, he was the second-born son of King Malcolm I. He reigned over Scotland in two interspersed times (between 971 and 973 and between 977 and 995). About his life and reign it is necessary to refer to the chronicles of Alba, Melrose and the Annals of Tigernach as many of his deeds are considered in part authentic and in part legends concerning the conflicts with the peoples of northern Europe and the relationships alternates with England from which it received some territories after a conflict with King Edgard the Pacific (Saint Edgard for Catholics and Anglicans). Also his death is subject of historical controversy. According to the Ulster Chronicles, he was murdered in revenge for an alleged killing of the son of a Scottish notable.
