She and Rasmus had five children:
-Charles Robert Jensen, born in 1877 and who died that same year
-Alfred Jens Peter Jensen, born 1878; died 1954
-Nellie Emelie Jensen, born 1880; died 1950
-George Charles Jensen, born 1882; died 1956
-John Edward "Ed' Jensen, born 1884; died about 1943.
In a last ditch efforet to save her life, Emma was taken by buckboard out of the back country in Bridgeville, Humboldt County, put aboard a steamer at Eureka bound for San Francisco, the place where where she underwent surgery. Unfortunatley, she died on the operating table. Her body was taken back to Eureka, where she was interred at Myrtle Grove Cemetery.
Emma's headstone is shared by her brother, Emil Johnson, a.k.a. Johan Emil John.
