Charles Joseph Featherston of Rockford passed away Thursday March 1, 2012, in OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center. Born Sept. 14, 1928, in Des Plaines; son of Charles and Clellah Featherston. He married Lillie Cadarian on May 21, 1994, in Rockford. He married His first wife, Joyce Gibbons September 14, 1947 & she died in 1992. He worked for many years at Greenlee Brothers. Member of St. Patrick's Church. He was a 4th degree member of The Knights of Columbus, Muldoon Council 470. He was active in the church and in the community. Charles was a Eucharistic Minister; member of the school board church council; served as president of the Holy Name Society; sang in the choir; called bingo and was a kitchen volunteer, all at church. He enjoyed bowling, baseball and shooting pool. Charles was a big fan of both the Cubs and the Bears.

Survivors include wife; 7 daughters; one son; three stepchildren, 21 grandchildren; and 24 3/4 great-grandchildren; two sisters; two brothers;

Predeceased by son, Charles; grandchildren, Sarah Lask, Staci Cadarian, Hope Anderegg and Bradley Dixon; sister, Rosalie Hewett; and brother, Robert Featherston.

Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Monday, March 5, in St Patrick's Church. Entombment in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, March 4, in Fitzgerald Funeral Home, 1860 S. Mulford Road, and from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Monday in the church.
