Sranton-Howard B Scranton,68,of Tonawnda,unexpectedly Monday(March 30,1981) at his residence .Born in Buffalo,he had been a resident of Tonawanda for the past 60 years and was the father of Duane E Scranton who died in 1978 and brother of the late Robert and George Scranton.Mr Scranton had been employed at DuPont de Nemours Co.,for 38 years,retiring in1968 and was a member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church.He is survived by his wife,Ruth M(nee Channels)Scranton;a daughter,Mrs. George(Marilyn) Karcher of Tonawanda;two sons, Ronald(Marilyn)Scranton of Phoenix,Ariz., and Kieth V Scranton of the Town of Toanawnda;three sisters,Mrs. Robert (Ruth)Wharam of Kenmore,Mrs Jennie Neelon of Tennessee and Mrs Harold(Helen) Person of Florida,seven grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.Friends may call from 7 to 9 Tuesday and 2to 4 ans 7 to 9 p.m.Wednesday at the John O. Roth Funeral Home,Korgan and William Sts.,Tonawanda where services will be at the conducted privately and at the convenience of the family'the Rev. John A.
